Tirupur: Three sand-laden lorries were seized for violating norms in Nallur in the district on Tuesday. It made the tally of general sand-laden lorries seized previously one month to 13.
Nallur was regarded as as the native sand marketplace, the place the trucks can be stationed ahead of being transported to the client places.
"When the revenue authorities inspected the market, they found that two stationed lorries were carrying the sand of five units instead of permitted three. Moreover, both the lorries were supposed to sell the sand only in Ooty but their owners tried to sell them here," mentioned Tirupur South Tahsildar V Gopalakrishnan.
In case of the third lorry, it was printed that it did not have any allow to carry the sand. The lorry's previous proprietor have acquired permission for carrying the sand in any other vehicle but used the different vehicle, he added.
