KOLKATA: The Kolkata Municipal Corporation will set up a committee to discover a solution to town's insecure constructions. This used to be decided on Wednesday after collapse of an unsafe development at Shibtala Street in Posta space on Tuesday that killed 3 participants of a same family. Chatterjee requested the councilors to move throughout the regulations of a brand new civic incentive scheme devised for the owners and tenants of insecure constructions and soak up the problem so that the scheme is defined to the tenants to transparent doubts from their minds. According to Sandipan Saha, a Trinamool Congress councilor of ward 52 the scheme would get advantages the tenants if done correctly.
Before looking to inspire them about the scheme Saha has already successfully wooed tenants of a couple of constructions on Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road beneath his jurisdiction to get their constructions repaired. "I spotted deplorable condition of two constructions.
Took up the matter with the tenants and in spite of everything motivated them to undertake maintenance," Saha said. Ram Pyre Ram, a veteran Trinamool Congress councilor too felt that the problem of motivating tenants of an insecure development used to be delicate and a councilors will have to get ready themselves for the activity. " We must go through the rules and regulations relating to demolition of insecure buildings and offering the owners and tenants a new package for redevelopment of the property. Then only we could go to them and motivate them," he said.
