SURAT: Jain monk Acharya Shantisagar Maharaj (45), who is accused of raping a 19-year-old faculty scholar, was once brought to New Civil Hospital (NCH) through the police for efficiency take a look at and to collect samples for DNA profiling. Police had accrued samples of the lady on Tuesday for DNA profiling.
It took over six hours for the procedures to finish and police groups had to camp at the clinic until evening. The rape survivor's oldsters and brother have been in the similar development, but in some other room, few metres away from the room the place she was once allegedly raped.
After the lady lodged grievance against the monk, some leaders of the Jain community came ahead in give a boost to of Shantisagar and alleged that the monk was once being framed to extort money through the survivor's oldsters.
