LUDHIANA: The faculty and students of Department of Food and Nutrition, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), celebrated "National Nutrition Week" from September 1-7 below the theme "Optimal Infant and Child Feeding Practices: Better Child Health." The division organized several activities to accentuate dietary awareness amongst community.
Lectures-cum-demonstrations got in local colleges together with Government Senior Secondary School, PAU, Gobind Nagar and GGN Public School to generate awareness on the importance of vitamin for well being. In addition, an inter-class quiz pageant used to be carried out within the College of Home Science, PAU. An inter-college cooking pageant on "Preparation of Nutritious Snacks for Infants and Pre-School Children" used to be also organized during which students from local faculties participated. The participants displayed their nutritious and delicious snacks.
Jatinder Gulati, Dean, College of Home Science, gave away prizes to the winners of quite a lot of competitions.
