Rain may be back from Monday in Delhi

NEW DELHI: Light drizzle was once recorded in parts of the capital on Friday morning with mercury staying 3 degrees under commonplace for the season. Delhi's base weather observatory in Safdarjung recorded a maximum temperature of 35.8 degrees Celsius on Friday, while the minimum was once recorded at 26.6 degrees Celsius, two notches under commonplace. Safdarjung received 2.6mm of rainfall till 8.30am on Friday over a 24-hour length while mild rains had been also recorded at Delhi University and Lodhi Road, which received 4mm and three.3mm of rainfall respectively.


Met officers say observatories at Palam, Ridge, Ayanagar and Pitampura did not receive any rain on Friday, while humidity hovered between 50% to 87% around the capital. According to officers from the Regional Weather Forecasting Centre in Delhi, another spell of pre-monsoon thundershowers is more likely to hit the capital on Monday night with robust winds.


"There will be no rainfall over the weekend, however a few spells of rain and thundershowers are likely to commence over Delhi NCR from Monday night for 3-4 days which will be accompanied by squally winds exceeding speeds of 50 km/hr. Temperatures are likely to stay below normal for the period," mentioned an RWFC authentic.
