LUCKNOW: Two contributors of a gang which duped over two dozen other folks had been nabbed through Gomtinagar police on Saturday whilst one is on the run.
Police stated Krishna Pandey and Pradeep Gautam introduced a political birthday celebration 'Indian Yuva Kranti Dal' and made contributors entice unemployed youths from Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Jaunpur, Jhansi, Sitapur, Hardoi, took cash from them on the pretext of providing government jobs and moved office.
The accused gave pretend appointment letters of CRPF, Jal Nigam, FCI, and Delhi Secretariat. Police nabbed the two from their office near Kathauta lake. Police stated that one Vikas Gupta of Gorakhpur, who gave Rs 11 lakh for a role in Food Corporation of India, ended his existence after he got to know that he was duped.
Police stated the miscreants had been active since 2015 and likewise published a magazine titled `Crime Curse'.
Circle officer Gomtinagar police Deepak Kumar Singh stated that the group collected Rs 1.5 crore from youths who lodged an FIR on Friday ."Efforts are on to nab the third accused," he stated.
Complainant Satish Kumar Maurya stated that he gave Rs 10 lakh and was promised activity of ward boy in health division. "When I reached the party office to enquire, I found it closed and met 16 other people there who had been duped similarly . We decided to lodge FIR," he stated.
He also added that Pandey and Gautam held rallies wherein they known as leaders from Apna Dal and Bharat Kisan Union to impress other folks.
