Govt hospitals set to get 'kayakalp' makeover

ALLAHABAD: In a bid to introduce 'same old' health facilities to be had at health facilities including executive hospitals and number one\group health facilities, the National Health Mission (NHM) is taking on a progamme titled "Kayakalp" at executive hospitals and group\ number one health facilities.

Under the Kayakalp scheme, scientific and paramedial team of workers are being trained by way of a team of experts for quality assurance.

Dr Rajesh Kumar Tripathi, divisional marketing consultant quality assurance instructed TOI, "A team of experts has imparted training to scientific and para scientific team of workers of five scientific facilities including Mauaima, Saidabad and Dhanupur PHCs and Kaurihar and Holagarh CHCs.

He additional added, "Apart from of Handia and Kutwa CHCs, all five executive hospitals of the district including TB sapru, SRN, Colvin, and Duffrin would also be lined in next phase".

"Kayakalp initiative, is geared toward encouraging each public health facility within the nation to work against requirements of excellence to help the facilities stay blank and hygienic," said Tripathi adding, "the cause of the learning to scientific and paramedical team of workers was to absorb same old quality work at health facilities". The training also aims primarily at promotion of cleanliness in public health facilities under the Swacchh Bharat Abhiyan".


"Medical and paramedical staff are advised about the measures that are helpful to maintain standard work in hospital management like hospital upkeep, sanitation and hygiene, waste management, infection control, hospital support services and hygiene promotion " mentioned Tripathi including "awards will be given out to the best-performing facilities" he added.


Since Kayakalp is a countrywide project, hospitals in addition to PHC\CHC that rating over 70% beneath the state review committee shall be evaluated again by way of a countrywide committee.


Additional CMO mentioned, "The scheme could also be aimed to incentivize and recognize such public healthcare facilities that display exemplary performance in adhering to standard protocols of cleanliness and infection control. It could also be to inculcate a culture of ongoing review and peer overview of performance related to hygiene, cleanliness and sanitation.


The profitable medical institution could be felicitated with Rs 50 lakh; 75% of the money award will opt for up-gradation of facilities, so they may be able to spend money on better services for sufferers and relaxation 25% shall be given to employees welfare as incentive to groups of the hospitals.
