HDMC chief absent in meeting, members raise objection

"The Centre sanctioned the project to the city seven years ago. However, due to the officials' apathy a detailed project report is not prepared. The HDMC is paying an electricity bill of Rs 20 crore every year. If the project is implemented, the HDMC can save up to Rs 15 crore annually and utilize the funds for development," he stated.

Patil stated if sun panels are installed at Amminabhavi — from the place water is pumped to achieve the dual cities — the HDMC can save Rs 28 crore from its electricity bill.

Altaf Kittur, corporator, ward number 65, alleged that no motion has been taken towards a personal institution which encroached upon greater than 1 acre of land at BR Ambedkar Stadium in Old Hubballi.
