KANPUR: A person dressed as a military commando was arrested from a lodge in Collectorganj right here on Tuesday for impersonation and allegedly cheating girls.
The inputs regarding the presence of the suspect at the lodge on the subject of Kanpur Central railway station was supplied to police via the sleuths of Army Intelligence (Kanpur).
The Collectorganj police and sleuths of Army Intelligence cordoned off the world, where the suspect was staying for the past three days and took him into custody. Senior superintendent of police Akhilesh Kumar mentioned that all the way through interrogation, he recognized himself as Vivek Kumar Rai, a local of Champaran in Bihar. The police have recovered commando uniforms, pretend IDs, stamps and quite a lot of incriminating paperwork from his ownership. The investigations are proceeding. He initially mentioned that he is a commando in Para nine. During grilling, he broke down and confessed that he did all this to create affect and cheat folks. He was dressed in commando uniform and about to depart lodge, when he was apprehended. "We are in touch with Champaran police," a police reliable mentioned.
