Install CCTVs: SP tells S Goa eateries, pubs

Margao: Restaurants, eating homes and pubs in South Goa have been asked to install 'good enough number' of CCTV cameras inside of and outdoor their premises, in a new advisory by means of the superintendent of police (South) Arvind Gawas. Gawas has asked such establishments to install cameras with night vision facility and to position them at vantage issues like entry, exit, parking, means and corridors.

The advisory also states that the CCTV device must have a facility of a minimum of 15 days of garage.

Earlier, the Panaji police too had issued a an identical advisory to retail outlets and establishments within the capital city.

CCTVs are noticed as a new device by means of the police to strengthen the law and order scenario. While the data of presence of CCTVs is noticed as a deterrent against fee of unlawful acts, the footage is noticed by means of law enforcement agencies as a device that information all motion, serving to in detecting circumstances when crimes happen.

The establishments have also been advised that all hand luggage will have to be checked, preferably the usage of baggage scanners.

The security advisory by means of Gawas asks homeowners of eating places, eating homes, shacks, pubs, clubs, amusement centres, etc, to install "No Smoking Area", "Smoking Here is an Offence", "No Drugs" boards in their premises and make certain that their consumers do not smoke in a public place.

Cautioning homeowners of such establishments against allowing their consumers to devour banned drugs and elements in their premises, Gawas, within the advisory, has pointed out that they might be punished under segment 25 of NDPS Act 1985, "for allowing your premises to be used for drug abuse."

The advisory additional warns that "no music should be played without the Amplified Sound License from Competent Authority."
