Rs11 lakh ex gratia payment to slain IAF commando's kin

Patna/Chandigarh: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday introduced ex gratia cost of Rs11 lakh to the next of relatives of Indian Air Force (IAF) commando Corporal Jyoti Prakash Nirala, who was martyred in a gunfight with terrorists at Bandipora in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.


Nirala belonged to Badladih village in Rohtas district. He was a member of the IAF’s Garud Commando Force. The CM stated all of the country would take into accout the supreme sacrifice made by means of the brave son of Bihar and he can be cremated with full police honours.


Meanwhile, Air Warriors paid floral tributes on Sunday to Nirala after his mortal remains were flown from Srinagar to Chandigarh. The body was later sent to his native position for the remaining rites with full army honours.


Nirala is survived by means of his spouse Sushma Nand and three-and-a-half-year-old daughter Jigyasa Kumari, a defence ministry spokesperson stated.
