NOIDA: Over 400 homebuyers from all over NCR, lately accumulated at Patel Chowk metro station in New Delhi at 11am in the morning and walked as much as the BJP headquarters at Ashoka Road and submitted a deputation at the place of business.
The workforce was once deterred as soon as at Patel Chowk and as soon as again at Ashoka Road as they did not have necessary permission to take out a rally. However the patrons submitted a detailed grievance letter with the BJP place of business claiming attention to their long drawn issue of non-delivery of apartments.
"Despite being held back by the police, we submitted a letter with the BJP headquarters today. We primarily went to their office as BJP is the ruling party in NCR region and they have a responsibility towards our situation. Before the election, senior party leaders had committed to us that the buyers concerns will be addressed. So we just took our complaints to them today formally," Shweta Bharti, general secretary, Noida Extension Flat Owners Welfare Association (Nefowa), mentioned.
"Among the key points the home buyers have mentioned in the letter is that they should be given a relief from paying EMIs until the houses are completed; that a government construction agency be deputed for completion of those apartments which are long overdue. Buyer also stated that while getting registered in RERA, many builders are distorting completion dates. For those apartments which were supposed to be handed over in 2012, some builders are filling in completion dates as 2022 or 2024, so the sanctity of earlier commitments are gone anyway. Who is checking this?" Abhishek Kumar, president. NEFOWA, mentioned.
"Builders are still distorting floor-area ratio at various projects. So we want to what action has the government taken at all with respect to the buyers issues," Indrish Gupta, co-founder, Nefowa, added.
