Snehlata Shrivastava is first woman Secretary General of Lok Sabha

NEW DELHI: Snehlata Shrivastava, a 1982-batch retired IAS officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre, used to be on Wednesday appointed the primary girl Secretary General of the Lok Sabha.

The appointment used to be made through Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, an authentic unlock stated. Shrivastava will substitute Anoop Mishra, who's retiring on November 30.

Shrivastava, a senior civil servant with 35 years of rich and sundry administrative experience, can have the rank and standing of Cabinet Secretary with impact from December 1.


She has held several necessary positions within the Madhya Pradesh govt as well as at the Centre.


Shrivastava has served as Secretary within the Ministry of Law and Justice and also as Special/Additional Secretary within the Ministry of Finance.


She has also held several senior positions within the Madhya Pradesh govt, together with as Principal Secretary within the ministries of Culture and Parliamentary Affairs.
