Udhagamandalam: A female tiger cub, aged around 18 months, used to be found dead in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve (MTR) within the Nilgiris on Sunday.
The carcass used to be found with a snare around its neck at Imberallah Beat in Doddahatty phase of Theppakadu range in MTR around 1pm, field director of MTR and Mukurthi National Park Srinivas R Reddy stated.
"A postmortem has been scheduled for Monday. Steps are being taken to conduct the autopsy as per the National Tiger Conservation Authority (Ntca) guidelines. The incident has been intimated to the higher officials," the reputable stated.
An investigation has been introduced to find out the cause of the dying.
