COIMBATORE: Two men tried to damage open an ATM situated at the Cross Cut Road in Coimbatore in the early hours of Wednesday.
The unidentified men, armed with tools, entered the Central Bank of India ATM at 2.30am. They tried to open the machine using screw drivers.
When an alarm began to ring, the duo fled from the spot.
Passersby knowledgeable the city police in regards to the incident. The bank supervisor also were given an alert after the alarm went off and reached the spot.
"Money was not stolen. We conducted vehicle checks and have also checked footage from the CCTV cameras. We will catch the culprits soon," stated a police officer.
