Woman fights 2 snatchers, catches one of them

GURUGRAM: The head of a local women's rights NGO was once attacked overdue on Friday when she was once returning home from place of job in her car. One of the assailants managed to escape after snatching her gold chain but she grabbed the other and got him arrested with the assistance of passersby.

Mahi Sharma alias Mamta (33) fought the assailants for around 10 minutes even once you have injured. An FIR has been registered at Sector 9A police station, and police are actually undertaking raids to nab the absconding accused. According to the police complaint filed via Sharma, she was once getting back from her Sector 10 boutique to her home in Sector nine around nine.30pm when she was once attacked.


"They rammed their auto into my car (a Swift Dzire) near the government college in Sector 9. As I stopped to look at the damage, the duo pounced on me and molested me. They hit me on my mouth. One of them pushed me to ground and snatched my chain and fled. The other man tried to drag me to a nearby shanty. I mustered my strength and grabbed him and raised an alarm. Then some people reached and helped me in holding the goon and call the police," Sharma recounted. "I saved myself with what I had learned in my self-defence class," she instructed TOI.


On the root of her complaint, an FIR was once registered towards the 2 accused below sections 323 (causing harm), 354A (molestation), 341 (wrongful confinement), 379B (snatching and use of power), 427 (causing damage) of IPC at Sector nine A police station.


"The accused are auto drivers. We have arrested Vipin, one of accused, a resident of Vishwakarma colony. His associate, Paravatha, is still absconding with his auto. We are conducting raids to nab the accused and are questioning Vipin," said ASI Ashok Kumar, the investigating officer.
