Auction nets Rs 4 crore for properties with Rs 28 lakh tax dues

GURUGRAM: The municipal corporation auctioned off six commercial properties, all situated in top locations, on Thursday after their homeowners didn't clear pending taxes.
The MCG mopped up overall Rs 3.84 crore as towards Rs 27.48 lakh the valuables homeowners collectively owed to the corporation.

The assets that used to be sold for the best possible price — Rs 1.1 crore — used to be a three,000-sq.ft shop in Star Mall, all the way through the auction held at Gymkhana Club, which used to be attended by round 100 bidders.

The reserve price for the shop used to be Rs 16.4 lakh, the quantity due to its proprietor.

MCG resources mentioned the reserve price for each assets used to be, in reality, equivalent to the taxes pending towards it.


"Our sole purpose is to extract the pending property taxes. If property owners do no pay their taxes on time, we will continue with the auction drive," mentioned YS Gupta, additional municipal commissioner, Gurgaon.


A 2nd shop in the similar mall used to be sold off for Rs 71 lakh, as towards the pending taxes of Rs 2.9lakh. A 3rd assets, situated in DLF Shopping Mall on Arjan Marg, went beneath the hammer for Rs 55 lakh while Rs 1.02 lakh used to be tax dues.


These aside, two devices were auctioned at Unitech Business Towers for Rs 46 lakh and Rs 44 lakh, respectively.


And the 6th one, which used to be auctioned for Rs 62 lakh, is in Bani Sqaure, Mayfield Garden. Sources mentioned the properties were sold at costs below market charges because some of them would most probably come with huge remarkable loans which would need to be cleared.
