Belagavi: Milk packaged in flexipacks at Belagavi District Cooperative Milk Producers' Societies Union Ltd (Bemul) will now be exported to Andhra Pradesh. Bemul plans to export 20,000 litres each day for distribution amongst youngsters, in a government programme.

Ubedullah Khan, managing director of Bemul said: "As per instructions of the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF), we signed an MoU with the Andhra Pradesh government to supply 20,000 litres of double-toned milk. The local sale of milk is about 4,000 litres. The milk packed here is marketed by KMF. We have plans to increase exports which will directly benefit farmers," he said.
