Dharwad: Income tax officers raided a complex, and the place of dwelling belonging to Congress leader Shivashankar Hampannavar, who is claimed to be an in depth confidant of district minister Vinay Kulkarni, here on Wednesday.
A staff of source of revenue tax officers, led via Kishore Kumar of Bengaluru, began the raid within the morning at Hampannavar's place of dwelling Neelaganga Nivas in Charantimath lawn. Another staff raided the Hampannavar complicated situated in Maratha colony. The raids continued until the evening. It can also be recalled that source of revenue tax officers had urged Hampannavar to claim the worth of his place of dwelling at Rs 10 crore, throughout the raid performed in September ultimate year. "As he did not declare the market value of his property, we have conducted the raid, to evaluate his residence and other properties," assets mentioned.
Hampannavar mentioned IT officers had insisted to claim a price for his belongings, which is much higher than the existing marketplace price. "I have all the documents to prove my contention. I do not fear such raids," he mentioned.
Responding to a question, he asserted that this raid don't need to be hooked up to his recent political actions. "It's true that I am involved in a campaign seeking an independent Lingayat religion, and I had also recently picketed at MP Pralhad Joshi's residence. Though I have been a Congress worker since 35 years, I don't find any political vendetta in this raid," he added.
