Register to carry out work in Mewat: Administration to NGOs

MEWAT: Now, all non-governmental organisations, social service and spiritual teams operating in Mewat should sign in themselves with the district administration. The directions were issued on Thursday by deputy commissioner Ashok Sharma, who cited, residents' protection as the rationale behind the move.

All NGO's, social and spiritual bodies in Mewat have a fortnight's cut-off date to sign in themselves with the administration. Notably, many organisations seek advice from Mewat regularly to carry out social paintings within the house. However, officers stated that majority of them do not inform the native authorities while doing so. The most up-to-date example was once when an NGO renamed Marora village as Trump village claiming that the US president would seek advice from the realm. However, no such go back and forth was once made, nor was once any permission looked for the name exchange from the administration. Consequently, the renamed forums were brought down inside a couple of days.

"Moreover, it isn't clear if those visiting the area have only good intention. Now, we have instructed all NGOs and religious bodies to register themselves with the district authorities," stated Ashok Sharma, deputy commissioner, Gurgaon.
