Coimbatore: Residents of Vellalore staged a protest on Saturday morning and demanding the TNSTC (Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation) authorities to function regular TNSTC the city buses from Vellalore to Singanallur and Vellalore - Gandipuram. The TNSTC authorities operated the buses from Idayarpalayam village near Vellalore to Singanallur and Gandhipuram and it allegedly took additional half an hour time to succeed in the 2 junctions.
Hence, the varsity, school students and office-goers may just no longer succeed in the 2 junctions on time. They due to this fact staged a protest and TNSTC officers pacified them.
TNSTC were operating 3 the city buses (course no -74 and 74 A) from Vellalore to Singanallur and Vellalore - Gandhipuram and more than 200 people have been using the bus services and products to succeed in the 2 junctions - Gandhipuram and Singanallur. Meanwhile, the TNSTC has extended the bus services and products to Idayarpalayam village near Vellalore and many of us occupied the seats from Idayarpalayam itself.
"We requested the TNSTC authorities to operate the three bus services from Vellalore to Gandhipuram and Singanallur during morning from 7 to 8.30 am every day. It would help to students and people who are working in various companies in Coimbatore city can reach them on time. If the buses are operated from Idayarpalayam village through Vellalore, it would take more than 30 minutes to reach the two junctions," stated N Mohanraj, a resident of Vellalore.
As many as 100 people including 40 ladies have been staging protest on the Vellalore bus stand on Saturday morning and did not permit 3 TNSTC the city buses from eight.30 am to 9.30 am. TNSTC officers from Ondipudur reached the spot and pacified the protestors. They promised them that they might unravel the issues inside per week and requested the protestors to co-operate with them so that they are able to function the buses. After which, the protestors withdrew the protest.
