DGP's advisory to educational institutions, students & guardians

BHUBANESWAR: With a number of instances of scholars being fascinated with heinous crimes coming to the fore across the state, Odisha Police as of late issued advisory for educational institutions, guardians and police to take on the threat.
"Instances of students indulging themselves in various criminal/anti-social activities like rape, murder, criminal assault, unlawful activities, eve-teasing, molestation, kidnapping for ransom, theft, drug addiction and others have come to the notice," Director General of Police, R P Sharma mentioned.

In his advisory to the police, Sharma mentioned regular patrolling in and around the faculty premises to be intensified through deploying PCR Vans and actions must be taken to stop sale of drug, tobacco and contraband merchandise in shops near and around the educational institutions.

Police must take fast steps towards outsiders and ex-students as consistent with regulation, who create anti-social activities throughout the campus, the DGP in the advisory mentioned.

He mentioned police must deploy plainclothes personnel to come across outsiders committing antisocial activities and conduct raids to come across anti-social parts, who pass lewd comments on female students and likewise resorting to eve teasing.

The DGP has advised all Superintendents of Police in the state including DCP Bhubaneswar, DCP Cuttack, SRP Cuttack, SRP Rourkela, SP EOW and STF to take special measure at the issue.


The DGP prompt the fogeys to frequently visit their wards to seem after their wellbeing and keep an eye on their activities.


The students must keep excellent co-operation with police and faculty authority. They must talk about their problems and must now not hotel to violence, it mentioned.


The faculty authorities have been asked to keep senior officials informed about any regulation and order eventualities and crimes happening of their respective educational institutions.


The faculty management must create a database of all students, install ok CCTV cameras in campus, undertake counselling sessions and hold meetings with parents at regular durations.
