Farmers lodge plaint against Goa minister

Belagavi: A complaint was once filed on Wednesday in opposition to Goa water resources minister Vinod Paleykar for the use of a derogatory term whilst referring to the folks of Karnataka recently. Hasiru Sene leader Gurulingayya Pujer filed the complaint with Khanapur police station.

During an interaction with journalists in Goa, Palyekar had said, "The Karnataka government is playing dirty politics over the Mahadayi dispute and has diverted the river water, which should flow into Goa."


Responding to a query on why he sought safety quilt all over his visit to the Kalasa-Banduri mission web site in Kankumbi, Palyekar used an abusive term and said, "The people of Karnataka can go to any extent..."


Paleykar's commentary irked many pro-Kannadiga organizations which demanded action in opposition to him.
