Dharwad: Noted researcher Krishna Kolhar Kulkarni said the Adilshahi rulers of Vijayapura had promoted introduction of literature in Arabic and Persian and there are more than 150 Arabic and Persian books and about 20 books on history written all through the duration.
Participating in a consultation on "Adilshahi Literature", he said the Adilshahis of Vijayapura ruled for 100 years in the area between Mumbai and Thanjavur and Goa and Kurnool. Kulkarni defined that the warriors who arrived with the Muslim invaders for the primary time to South India have been talking with locals in a language known as "Rabane Mohalla Urdu".
