"The cow has become ferociously protective of the calf. But, it needs follow-up treatment and ointment needs to be applied. All efforts to treat the wound have been foiled by the cow," stated Khader, adding that both wish to be shifted for remedy as they are lying on garbage which might purpose infection of wounds.

By afternoon, the Haveri District Veterinary Polyclinic government shifted them to their sanatorium. Dr H B Sannakki stated they will treat the calf for three days within the sanatorium. On seeing the struggling calf, Khader had rushed it to a veterinary sanatorium. On seeing the calf being taken in a goods carrier, its mom had doggedly followed the automobile.
