UAE lodges complaint with UN over Qatar war planes

RIYADH: The United Arab Emirates has lodged a criticism with the United Nations to say Qatari war planes intercepted its civilian plane in an unjustified escalation of a regional dispute, state information agency WAM stated on Thursday.
The UAE stated on Monday that Qatari air power jets had intercepted two UAE civilian plane on routine business flights to Bahrain. Qatar has stated the claims are "completely untrue".


The criticism used to be within the type of a note submitted to each the UN Security Council president and the UN General Assembly president. It stated the interception used to be a risk to the protection of the civil flights a breach to the principles of global regulation, WAM reported.


The UAE, together with Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt, has imposed commute, diplomatic and trade sanctions on Qatar since ultimate June, accusing it of supporting terrorism.


Qatar denies the charge and has accused the four nations of trying to make it agree to their foreign policy positions.


The UAE has banned Qatari plane from using its airspace as part of the constraints imposed since June. Qatar has not reciprocated.
