Suspicion of witchcraft led to 50-yr-old woman’s beheading

Vadodara: Investigation into the beheading of a 50-year-old tribal girl in Chhota Udepur has published that accused Chhagan Rathwa had suspected her of being a witch.
Police also arrested Chhagan’s buddy Mukesh Rathwa, who was concerned in the murder of the lady Reshli Rathwa.

During interrogation, Chhagan instructed police that he killed Reshli after consulting a witch doctor. Police said that Chhagan’s mom had died around a fortnight in the past even as she didn't have any sickness. “His mom had returned house after taking cattle out for grazing and died within few hours,” said a police reliable. Chhagan instructed police that he had suspicion that his mom died of witchcraft and due to this fact he consulted the witch doctor.

According to police assets, the witchdoctor instructed Chhagan that a girl who met his mom when she took her cattle out for grazing had carried out some black magic. Reshli and Chhagan’s mom used to frequently meet whilst taking their cattle out for grazing. The accused assumed that Reshli had met his mom at the day of her dying as neatly and carried out witchcraft.

Chhagan then determined to avenge his mom’s dying via killing Reshli. He discussed his plan with Mukesh and any other buddy Kamlesh, both of whom determined to lend a hand him. Chhagan chopped off the lady’s head or even injured her arms and feet. They had later buried her head via digging a pit in the river.

The accused had entered the home thru ventilation window in Rathwa’s room. He had removed the iron bars which were fit over ventilation window.
