UK delegation in India to promote Scotch whisky, food items

LONDON/MUMBAI: A British delegation of 13 meals and beverages firms has embarked on a major industry project to India to showcase a few of Britain's fashionable exports reminiscent of Scotch whisky.
The project, which arrived in Mumbai on Wednesday, is designed to grow and expand the native marketplace's consciousness of British whisky, gin, craft beer, meat, fish, connoisseur food and drink, health meals and dairy at a time when the UK feels the Indian marketplace's urge for food for those merchandise is expanding.

The delegation is led by the UK government's Department for International Trade.

The delegation, which incorporates representatives from Amber Glen Scotch Whisky, Arbikie Highland Estate Distillery Ltd, DeVine Distillates Group Ltd and the English Cheesecake Company Ltd amongst others, will take part within the 11th India Food Forum in Mumbai prior to travelling to Bengaluru to attend the British Food and Drinks Symposium on Friday.

In Mumbai, the delegation can even meet with Amit Lohani of the Food and Drink Importers Association (FIFI) and a consultant from Santander financial institution to talk about food and drink opportunities in India.

The delegation's number one objective is to connect with native firms, explore marketplace opportunities and construct lasting relationships in India.
