PANAJI: Goa’s largest riverine island of Chorao adversarial putting in place of cellular towers up to now, however on Sunday, the islanders approved 3 of them, together with two in crematoriums.
A unique gram sabha chaired through sarpanch Pandhari Vernekar have been convened to talk about the issue and the participants prompt 3 locations across the island. “Two have been prompt in crematoriums in Pandavaddo in the northern part of the island and Maddel in the south,” an islander told TOI on Sunday.

“We welcome the cellular towers as after a few years of suffering due to non-availability of right kind conversation, we felt it was once the will of the hour,” a former sarpanch of Chorao-Maddel panchayat Shrikrishna Haldankar mentioned.
The 3rd in Saude, Gavona, is sought to be cited in the central part of the island that stretches about 10km from the ferry level overlooking Ribandar to the north.
The scenic island with an undulating topography and the south-western part of it under Dr Salim Ali chicken sanctuary has two ferry issues in the south and towards north-western phase.
The temple committee of a devasthan at Maddel has already issued permission for the proposal.
“All the locations are in hilly areas and no longer too on the subject of residential areas,” Haldankar mentioned.
