DRDC to organize Science Week

Dharwad: The Dharwad Regional Science Centre (DRSC) will arrange “Science Week” from February 26 to March five, stated DRSC director K B Gudasi.
As part of the event, a two-day science training programme for highschool teachers can be held from Monday. Surekha Devy will inaugurate the programme at 10.30am. DDPI N H Nagur and KU registrar (analysis) Nijalingappa Mattihal would be the visitors. A sky-gazing process can be held at 7pm.

The valedictory of the training programme and sixth anniversary of DRSC can be held at 4pm on February 27. MLC S V Sankanur and ZP CEO Snehal Rayamane would be the leader visitors. This can be adopted by way of dialogue on new projects to be taken up by way of the DRSC.

National Science Day to commemorate the delivery anniversary of Nobel laureate C V Raman can be held at 10.30am on February 28. A debate on “Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future” can be arranged for BSc students.

Tata Motors unit leader Rajanish Juwa would be the leader visitor. The valedictory can be held at 4pm and educationalist M I Savadatti would be the leader visitor.


On March 1, a divisional-level science drama pageant can be conducted. Seven teams that have bagged first place in district-level science drama fest will participate. Deputy commissioner S B Bommanahalli will inaugurate the event, while theatre persona Yashvanth Sardeshpande, Rangayana director Pramod Shiggoan and previous MLA Chandrakanth Bellad would be the different visitors. KU vice-chancellor Pramod Gai will preside.


MP Pralhad Joshi will unveil the T-55 tanker kept at the premises of DRSC at 4pm.


For level students, science fest can be held on March three. The theme of the fest can be Mangalayaan. There can be drawing, essay writing and quiz festival. Subject mavens will ship special talks.
