GURUGRAM: The family of a retired armyman undergoing treatment for cancer has alleged that a doctor on the General Hospital in Gurugram’s Sector 10 demanded Rs five,000 from them for blood transfusion.
Tejram, who was once admitted to the government health center on Saturday evening, needed to in the end go back house with out the blood being administered.
Although the family is but to hotel any formal complaint in the subject, the health center authorities stated they would probe the allegation and action can be taken in opposition to the doctor if he is found to blame.
Tejram’s relations, who had arranged for the blood from close by Rotary Blood Bank, went on a rampage on the health center when the doctor allegedly refused to transfuse the blood. They vandalised the health center corridor, creating a panic amongst other patients.
Tejram, a Delhi resident who retired from the army’s civil cadre, was once identified with prostate cancer someday again. He were undergoing treatment at Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital, the place medical doctors stated his haemoglobin stage was once low. “We took my father to the General Hospital in Sector 10 in Gurugram round 5pm. The doctor on accountability completed the vital formalities and admitted him. The family alleged that even though the next doctor on accountability arrange the cannula, he refused to head forward with the transfusion till he was once paid Rs five,000. This ended in a heated argument and a ruckus in the health center compound.
“It’s executive health center. We completed the paperwork and arranged for the blood on our personal. Why will have to we pay any cash and that too without a receipt? When we objected, the doctor on accountability refused to head forward with the process and requested us to depart,” stated Brajesh.
The family is but to sign in a complaint in opposition to the doctor. “We have no longer received any complaint in this regard, but the subject has been dropped at our notice. It is a very serious allegation as no doctor can deny service to a patient or call for cash. In this example, a cancer patient has been denied blood transfusion. We will conduct an inquiry into the subject and take strict action if the doctor is found to blame,” stated Dr BK Rajora, a civil surgeon on the health center.
