GUWAHATI: The anti-smuggling unit of customs seized 11 gold biscuits of overseas starting place price Rs 44,96,385 from a person in Hojai district on Wednesday. The customs unit has detained the one that is reportedly a goldsmith in Hojai and are currently interrogating him.

A joint group of police and CRPF body of workers confiscated drugs price Rs 2 crore from a hotel at Rongpur locality of Silchar on Wednesday. Sources mentioned acting on a tip-off, law enforcement officials raided the hotel in the morning and found the medicine from a room. Security forces arrested Zayed Ahmed (28) and Jalal Uddin (36), citizens of Nabingram and Gamari locality of Karimganj district respectively. The police are interrogating the duo for additional main points. SP (Cachar) Rakesh Raushan mentioned 100 packets containing 195 capsules - suspected to be of 'World is Yours' selection - price Rs 2 crore have been seized by means of the police. It is suspected that the medicine have been being smuggled from Manipur.
