Belagavi: A video clip of Mrinal Hebbalkar, son of KPCC Women's Morcha president Laxmi Hebbalkar, distributing expensive sweets to electorate in a village of Belagavi Rural constituency, has gone viral on social media prior to now two days.
The clip shows girls queuing as much as receive force cookers, and Mrinal urging them to vote his mother Laxmi, with folded arms. One force cooker was once loaded on the head of a small girl, when she couldn't lift the weighty vessel in her arms.
Four months in the past, CM Siddaramaiah had confirmed a Congress ticket for Hebbalkar, while collaborating in a party workers' convention organized at Sulebhavi village of Belagavi Rural constituency. Hebbalkar was once defeated through BJP candidate Sanjay Patil through a thin margin in the last meeting elections.
Hebbalkar's act has embarrassed the Congress party after electronic media telecast the video clip on Tuesday. TOI tried to contact Hebbalkar, but her mobile phone was once switched off.
MLA Sanjay Patil said it is no secret that Hebbalkar were distributing saris, force cookers and cash to electorate prior to now a number of months.
