PNB says enough arrangements for customers

NEW DELHI: Embroiled in a big fraud, state-owned PNB on Monday assured all its consumers of "enough arrangements" for their banking transactions without any inconvenience, and that it has enough property to fulfill any legal responsibility.

Replying to clarifications sought by inventory exchanges, the Punjab National Bank (PNB) stated: "Bank has enough assets to meet any liability which is decided as per law."

However, it added that realisation of any explicit asset would be decided at the time of need with the approval of board.

The commentary adopted media studies that the country's second greatest financial institution was in procedure to monetise its mounted property within the wake of Rs 11,400 crore fraud allegedly perpetrated by defaulter businessmen Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi.

On studies about regulation enforcement companies sealing its MCB Brady House department in Mumbai, PNB stated it is beneath discussion with CBI to allow standard operation at the department all over industry hours.

"However, the bank has Core Banking Solution through which any customer of bank can transact at any branch of his convenience. Bank has made enough arrangements to ensure no customer is put to any inconvenience," it stated.

Regarding exchanges' query on a petition within the Supreme Court challenging Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the fraud, PNB stated it isn't aware of any such petition.

The financial institution's shares endured to tank for a fourth day in a row as of late.
