GHAZIABAD: An engineer of the electrical energy division was seriously injured after being thrashed whilst checking unlawful energy connection in a residential premises in Ghaziabad on Saturday. While three individuals have been booked, nobody has been arrested.
The attack came about in Daulatpura area when engineer Raju Singh (30) visited a space to check on unlawful electrical energy connections. “Singh had visited a space to which energy supply were snapped because electrical energy was being attracted to it through unlawful connection. He was there to check if the home proprietor hadn’t began availing electrical energy once more through unlawful method. The space proprietor and a few locals assaulted him wherein he sustained bodily injuries. Earlier, an FIR were registered towards this actual person for availing unlawful electrical energy connection,” discom chief engineer AK Chaudhary informed TOI.
Singh sustained head injuries within the assault. He was taken to a local clinic but was shifted to Yashoda Hospital in Nehru Nagar when his condition deteriorated. Doctors on the clinic said his well being condition is significant.
“The patient has been admitted to the neurological ICU. He has sustained a lacerated wound on his head. We have saved him under statement,” Dr Abhimanyu Johri informed TOI.
According to police, Singh was hit with an iron rod on the back of his head. An FIR under sections together with 323 (voluntarily inflicting hurt), 353 (assault) and 395 (dacoity) of IPC towards three individuals in Sihani Gate police station. Apart from the home proprietor, Anand, police have booked Vinod and Chhatar Singh, who are also from Daulatpura within the FIR. They are absconding.
“The males prohibited the engineer from successfully discharging his professional duty. They also snatched away his cell phone whilst assaulting him significantly. Efforts are underway to nab the boys,” said SHO, Sihani Gate, Vinod Kumar Pandey.
