“MCG has been catching monkeys after illegally inducing drugs thru bananas, administering ache thru cruel handling, breaking up family groups, reportedly selling the juvenile and toddler monkeys to madaris and/or killing them or causing them to disappear in undisclosed locations,” it adds.

The petition has been filed via animal activist Amit Chaudhery. He could also be an honorary animal welfare officer of the Animal Welfare Board of India.

“It is a in point of fact unlucky and unhappy mirrored image of our times that govt functionaries are misusing the taxpayers money to delight in illegality and crime must be made responsible thru courts of regulation,” he told TOI.

MCG on Friday sought more time to answer the petition. “We are going to practice the entire instructions of the courtroom. We have the entire required documentation and all procedures are in place in hiring contractors for transportation of animals,” mentioned an MCG reliable.
