GANDHINAGAR: Rajendra Trivedi, the Gujarat assembly Speaker, on Friday introduced that the timings of the House would be modified taking into account the nutrition and drugs routine diabetics must practice; many MLAs have diabetes or hypertension, or each. The MLAs had requested the Speaker to regulate the schedule. Trivedi has also decided to ensure that all MLAs in the assembly are served lunch. That will obviate the need of lawmakers, specifically diabetics, to make their arrangements.
Though legit health data of MLAs aren't to be had, it is believed that of the 182 MLAs greater than 40 - including ministers - have diabetes, hypertension, and other clinical problems. According to the modified timings, complaints in the home will begin at nine.30am on every occasion morning periods are scheduled; the periods started at 8.30am in the past. On other days, the periods will begin at 11.00am rather than midday.
"Many MLAs from both the parties as well as ministers and government officers had requested me to change the timings," Trivedi instructed TOI.
