II Pre-university: Three grace marks in English, six in physics

BENGALURU: In a relief to scholars who took the II pre-university examinations, the pre-university education department has said they’ll get grace marks in English and physics papers.

Students had complained of a number of grammatical and different errors within the English paper, and a wrong five-mark question within the physics paper.


As per the Karnataka Pre-university Course State-level Public Examination (Amendment) Rules 2017, the dept can award grace marks the place it deems have compatibility. Following the recommendations of 2 independent professional committees, the dept decided to award three grace marks in English and up to 6 marks in physics.


“All scholars can be awarded the three grace marks in English. In physics, all can be awarded one mark for the obligatory question, but most effective those who attempted the not obligatory Five-mark question will receive Five grace marks,” said C Shikha, director of the dept of pre-university education.
