J&K govt announces Rs 4 lakh ex-gratia to kin of deceased in snow avalanche

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir govt has announced an ex-gratia relief of Rs 4 lakh every to the next of family members of 3 individuals, who misplaced their lives in a snow avalanche in Lashkote forests of Lolab in North Kashmir, an authentic spokesman said.

Minister for Disaster Management, Relief Rehabilitation Reconstruction and Floriculture Javaid Mustafa Mir announced the repayment under the State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF) for the sufferers' families, he said.


The our bodies of Bashir Ahmed, Ghulam Mohd Lone, Mohammed Altaf -- all residents of Warnow village, Lolab -- had been retrieved from the avalanche house after strenuous efforts via the joint rescue crew of Army, Police, Revenue at the side of the locals.


The minister preferred the rescue teams and the local volunteers for successfully accomplishing the challenging process of search operation despite the cruel terrain and inclement weather, the authentic said.


He also expressed his deepest condolences with the bereaved families and directed the well being department to offer perfect clinical facilities to the two survivors, he added.
