Naveen Patnaik to thank Bijepur voters today

BHUBANESWAR: After his celebration's thumping victory within the recently-concluded Bijepur byelection, BJD president and chief minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to address a public meeting at Barpali on Monday to specific his gratitude to the citizens.
The ruling celebration has made elaborate preparations for the programme called 'Juhar Bhet'. The chief minister could also be likely to lay the basis of a few development initiatives for Bijepur during his consult with.

On February 28, BJD candidate Rita Sahu received the much-publicized byelection via more than 41,000 votes.

Senior leaders of the celebration, who played a a very powerful position in BJD's victory in Bijepur, have been tenting within the western Odisha constituency to make the thanks giving ceremony a grand success. The ruling dispensation plans to mobilize celebration staff from every panchayat of the constituency.

"When Naveen babu came here for campaigning for our candidate (Rita Sahu), the opposition parties had said the chief minister would forget Bijepur after the byelection. We never forget our promises," stated BJD vice-president Prasanna Acharya.

He added, "The CM had assured to personally monitor the development process at Bijepur for which people of Bijepur reposed their faith in BJD. He would express his gratitude to the people."

Political analysts stated the programme possibly targets to carry on the momentum which the ruling celebration has won after the Bijepur victory ahead of the general and assembly elections due in 2019.


The Congress and BJP criticized Naveen's scheduled consult with to Bijepur. Hitting out at the chief minister over 'lack' of development in Bijepur, senior Congress leader Niranjan Patnaik stated the purpose of the consult with is to achieve political mileage.


BJP spokesperson Sajjan Sharma also slammed the executive minister for visiting Bijepur and requested as to how are the people of Bijepur going to get pleasure from this sort of programme.


Naveen, during his consult with, would also inaugurate the Sambalpur-Rourkela stretch of the Biju Expressway close to Jharsuguda. The Rs 3,000 crore venture from Rourkela to Kotpada in Koraput will connect western Odisha with southern areas.
