NHAI seeks land to build trumpet junction on Dwarka Expressway

GURUGRAM: The NHAI has written to Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) to obtain land for a trumpet interchange at the road dividing sectors 84-88. It will get started from Sector 88 and result in Sector 89. NHAI technical guide AECOM has also proposed an interchange road hyperlink to attach IMT Manesar.
In the letter, NHAI has mentioned that there's any other proposed sector road — dividing sectors 84 and 88 — which is to be evolved as an application hall. According to the general construction plan, this road has a proposed width of 75m. Another 60m can be wanted for the trumpet interchange to merge with it.

According to the letter, since this road can be merging with the street to New Gurugram— providing an alternative path to IMT Manesar — it is expected that in years to come, visitors volume on it's going to be heavy, especially with visitors between Delhi and Manesar expected to rise at this particular intersection. Between Delhi and New Gurugram/IMT Manesar, this road can be an alternative choice to NH-8 that still has graded and separated interchange connectivity.

“The notification for acquisition of land for the trumpet interchange has already been issued by the sub-divisional Justice of the Peace. We can now proceed to obtain and give land to NHAI,” stated V Umashankar, CEO, Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA).

In addition, GMDA has proposed two cloverleaf interchanges on Dwarka Expressway, which the Authority expects to turn into town’s major arterial road within the coming days. Earlier, there was once a plan for a cloverleaf near Kherki Daula toll plaza. This has now been shifted to Sector 74A. This cloverleaf will connect Southern Peripheral Road, Central Peripheral Road and the Expressway. The design of this cloverleaf is set to be finalised.

Now, a second cloverleaf will come up at Dwarka Expressway the place it crosses the Pataudi road near Hayatpur in Sector 88. According to resources, the full mission value is estimated at round Rs 2,000 crore.

“There is a plan to construct two cloverleaf interchanges to ease visitors waft within the town. Instructions had been issued to the involved division to remove bottlenecks. Once these cloverleafs are constructed, we predict Gurugram’s visitors gadget to reinforce,” added Umashankar.
