No student got EWS seat in 24 Gurugram schools in 2 years

GURUGRAM: An RTI answer via the training department has published that 24 personal faculties in Gurugram have no longer admitted any scholar below the economically weaker sections (EWS) class prior to now two years for the periods 2016-17 and 2017-18. Under Rule 134-A of Haryana School Education Rules, 2003, all personal faculties have to reserve 10% seats below the EWS class.

District training officer Premalata Yadav mentioned, “We do not have any information about faculties that have no longer given admission below the EWS class.

“If we get a list of such faculties, appropriate action will probably be taken in opposition to them. The 2017-19 admissions will probably be supervised more efficiently than admissions in previous years.”

The reply to RTI activist Aseem Takyar’s question names some outstanding faculties that have refused admissions to students belonging to economically weaker sections of society.

All of the 24 faculties had were given land from Huda, in keeping with the RTI answer. Schools built on Huda land have to reserve 20% seats for college kids below the EWS and beneath poverty line (BPL) classes.

However, all the faculties utterly omitted the rule. Huda property officer-II Vivek Kalia mentioned, “This is a sensitive issue and the RTI raises legitimate issues. The faculties which refused admissions below the EWS class must face inquiry.”

He added, “We keep these regulations in thoughts once we allot land for building of colleges. If the training department tells us that some faculties are violating the norms, we will without a doubt take steps in opposition to them.
