Sabha discusses land rights with BTC chief

Kokrajhar: A delegation of Asom Sahitya Sabha led by means of the president of the literary frame, Paramananda Rajbongshi, met BTC leader Hagrama Mohilary on the Bodoland Guest House here on Thursday evening and mentioned the problem of land rights.

Rajbongshi stated the delegation mentioned the existing situation concerning granting of land rights within the BTC areas. He appealed to the council management to ship equal rights and privileges to all communities and care for peace and calmness. When asked concerning the Sabha's stand on coverage of tribal land, he stated vast swathes of land were occupied by means of non-tribals.


Rajbongshi stated, "The government should take preventive measures to protect the land of indigenous people of the state."


Asked concerning the lack of academics in Bodo-medium colleges of the state, he stated the government must take steps to refill vacant posts. He added that the Sabha was additionally responsible for protecting the social and cultural material of the state intact.
