The British High Commissioner, Sir Dominic Asquith used to be in Lucknow a few weeks back to attend a gathering with quite a lot of alumnae of the British universities right here. Organized through the Association of British Scholars, the assembly used to be well-attended through several well known faces from Lucknow. The British High Commissioner used to be accompanied through St. John Gould, director, Department of International Trade and Gavin, director, Department for International Trade (DFIT). Sir Asquith used to be extremely joyful to be in India, specially Lucknow. "Look at the 19th century portraits of Lucknow and it is a stunning city. The beautiful description of the buildings are remarkable. And also the delicious food that I tasted here is just awesome," he stated. Telling us more about the event, Nishi Pandey, professor and president of the Association of British Scholars, stated, "We wanted this meeting to be done to increase funding of educational centres in both UK and India. This would increase the number of summer schools in India and will also help in more faculty exchange programs."
