KANPUR:In a stunning incident, a young couple set themselves ablaze as their households objected to their alleged relationship, in Fatehpur district, on Thursday.
The couple locked themselves in a room all over the wee hours of Thursday and set themselves on fireplace. Their badly charred our bodies have been later found mendacity at the mattress, stated the police.
According to reviews, the boy, Mayank Singh (22) of Bamrauhli village under the bounds of Dhata police station, developed an `affair' with the lady, Nanhki Devi (18), who lived in the neighbourhood. However, as per the village assets, their households objected their relationship.
The couple’s death got here as a surprise to their households.
The family members of Mayank stated they didn’t have an inkling of the incident. "Nanhki Devi's mother had expired about an year ago, her father is an employee at a brick kiln unit, and at the time of incident, she was alone in the house."
"We came across the smell of charred flesh emanating from the house of Nanhki when we woke up in the morning. We immediately rushed to the spot and alerted Police Control room and Fire department, before launching a rescue operation. The police and Fire department personnel came, broke into the house and found the badly burnt bodies of couple lying on the bed," villagers informed TOI.
Though the our bodies had been despatched for autopsy, the police are wondering the households of the deceased couple to determine the reason that ended in the shocking incident.
Prima facie it seems to be a case of suicide, however, now we have now not yet achieve ultimate conclusion and are anticipating postmortem document, the police stated.
