Blind student robbed at Howrah station

KOLKATA: A blind pupil of Rabindra Bharati University, Jiban Krishna Rakshit, was once assaulted and robbed at Howrah station on Saturday.

After he were given off a educate, a person offered to escort him to the bus stand. When Rakshit learned he was once being steered the mistaken way, he protested and was once knocked unconscious by means of a blow to his head.


"When I regained consciousness, I found a woman removing a gag and untying my hands. All my belongings had been stolen," he recounted.


When he approached a GRP group of workers, he was once requested to return with pals. After attaining his hostel with some cash supplied by means of the girl, Rakshit narrated the incident to his seniors who took him again to the GRP workplace at Howrah station.


"Initially, they refused to listen to us," mentioned Rakshit's senior Goutam Dey. The GRP in the end took the complaint after the scholars gheraoed the GRP workplace. A GRP officer mentioned they've gained the complaint and have been probing into it.
