CMB: DMK, CPM protest against state, central govts

Coimbatore: More than 100 cadres of DMK, CPM and Campus Front of India (CFI) staged road roko in various puts in the city to condemn the central executive for failing to represent the Cauvery Management Board (CMB) by means of the time frame set by means of the Supreme Court. The police, alternatively, restored site visitors by means of detaining and disposing of the protesters from the street. Later, they had been let off.

DMK workers took to the streets after the birthday celebration’s running president M Okay Stalin was once arrested in Chennai for main a road blockade. DMK MLA N Karthick and cadres collected on Avinashi Road at Peelamedu and raised slogans towards the AIADMK executive and the Centre. The city police detained and got rid of them.


Addressing the media, Karthick said DMK and its allies would accentuate protests across the district. DMK had earlier referred to as for a one-day bandh on April 5 across the state.


CPM workers staged a road roko at Hopes College on Avinashi Road to register their anger towards the Centre for not forming CMB. As many as 57 birthday celebration cadres from Peelamedu and Singanallur house squatted on Avinashi Road and raised slogans towards the Union executive. The protesters had been detained and got rid of from the spot.


CFI contributors, in the meantime, staged the protest close to Ukkadam bus stand.
