Mercury on rise in Delhi, respite likely in 2 days

NEW DELHI: The national capital on Monday recorded a most temperature of 40 levels Celsius, a notch above the season's average, with weather analysts forecasting a further upward thrust however protecting out a promise of respite via Wednesday night time.
At some places, the mercury crossed 40 levels, with Palam sizzling at 41.5 levels, Ayanagar at 41.2 and Narela at 41 levels Celsius respectively.

Despite the sunshine rains against Sunday night, Monday's minimal temperature used to be 25 levels Celsius, a notch above the season's average.

Delhi, till 8.30am on Monday, recorded 1.1mm rainfall, stated the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Mercury is set to upward thrust on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon, say the weather analysts. According to IMD, whilst Tuesday will stay warm with marginal upward thrust in mercury, mild rains would possibly deliver some respite against Wednesday night and Thursday.


"Another weather system is supposed to bring a spell of rains in Punjab, hilly states, western Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Delhi. This will have effects towards Wedensday evening to Friday," Mahesh Palawat, director personal weather company Skymet told IANS.


The humidity on Monday hovered round 24 to 60%.


Sunday's most temperature used to be recorded at 40.4 levels, two notches above the season's average whilst the minimal temperature used to be 27.6, four notches up.


Monday's air quality used to be tagged 'poor', with Air Quality Index (AQI) at 206 on a scale of 0 to 500.
