Worms in buttermilk; canteen contractor fined

MUMBAI: A canteen contractor at the Palghar railway station used to be fined for not maintaining hygiene after a commuter allegedly discovered worms within the buttermilk meting out device.

The incident took place on Sunday at around 1am when a commuter from Palghar Praful Gawde (38) on alighting from a long-distance educate made up our minds to have buttermilk from the canteen on platform 1.


In his grievance to the Palghar station, grasp Gawde who works within the shipment phase of the airport stated that worms have been visual within the near-empty dispenser device.


Gawde purchased it to the notice of the contractor Chandanlal Shah. Gawde stated that white colour worms have been visual with the naked eye.


Gawde stated that the device having a capability of over 10 may have allotted buttermilk to commuters throughout the day. The value of a glass of buttermilk is Rs five.


The station grasp directed the foot stall to shut down on receiving the grievance. Western Railway fined Shah Rs 10,000 and issued a warning for failing to stick to hygiene standards.
