Mysuru: Unable to deal with rejection from a girl he was once besotted with, a 30-year previous guy scaled a high-tension electrical transmission tower close to Ramakrishna Circle in Ramakrishnanagar and threatened to commit suicide.
Shankar, a resident of Yadahalli and a employee at a marble shop in Dattagalli, is claimed to be in love with a woman. He is claimed to have informed her about committing suicide after which scaled the tall transmission tower at 12.30pm to jump from it and end his life.
Kuvempunagar police rushed to the spot along side hearth division personnel and attempted to convey him down safely. But Shankar did not relent to their pleas. The personnel then called his mom. The excessive drama ended after 54 minutes when Shankar’s mom reached the spot and cajoled him to climb down.
Police then warned him ahead of letting him off.
